House painting
Low-cost paint for rented rooms and quick repaints in Gwalior

Where to save and where not to
On a repaint between tenants, the walls are usually sound and the aim is a clean, even look. That is where an economy emulsion makes sense. Do not save on fixing damp, cracks and loose paint, because a cheap coat over a bad wall fails quickly and the next tenant will complain sooner.
Distemper or emulsion?
Distemper costs less per litre but rubs off, marks easily and needs repainting more often. An economy emulsion such as Bison Lite holds up better to cleaning and lasts longer between repaints. For a landlord who repaints every year or two, the difference in labour often matters more than the difference in paint price.

A simple plan for a 1BHK or 2BHK
- Wash greasy kitchen walls and dirty switch areas before painting.
- Scrape and spot-prime any flaking patches.
- Use one light, neutral shade across rooms. It needs fewer coats, hides marks and is easy to touch up.
- Ceiling White on all ceilings.
- Keep one tin aside with the shade code written on it for the next touch-up.
Getting material quickly in Gwalior
Our Gwalior store keeps the Bison range in stock and tints it on the spot, so a painter can collect material on the same day. Outside Gwalior city, Berger dealers we supply in the other seven districts carry the economy range too.

Before the painter starts: a short checklist
- Fix leaks and damp first; paint will not stop water coming through a wall
- Scrape loose and flaking paint; sand glossy patches so the new coat grips
- Fill cracks, then prime repaired spots and any bare plaster
- Use putty only where the wall is uneven, and sand it smooth
- Cover floors and furniture; remove switch plates and fittings
- Note the shade code of every tin, so a later top-up matches
Questions to ask your painter before work starts
- Which walls need scraping, primer or putty, and which do not?
- How many coats of each product are included in the price?
- Who supplies material, and will you show me the sealed tins and shade codes?
- How will furniture, floors and fittings be protected?
- How many days will the job take, and how long between coats?

Frequently asked questions
Is Bison Lite washable?
It is an economy emulsion, so it resists marks better than distemper, but it is not designed for regular scrubbing. For rooms that need washing, look at Easy Clean.
Can I paint emulsion over old distemper?
Scrape off loose distemper, prime the wall, and then apply emulsion. Emulsion over powdery distemper tends to peel.
How fast can you supply for a quick repaint?
Stock in common shades is usually available the same day at our Gwalior store. Call +91 77559 81105 to check.
